RISKING IT ALL FOR CHRIST ACTS 21:1-36 Acts helps us know how to act as we live on mission of making disciples for the glory of God. Paul has just had a tearful goodbye with Ephesian elders, (Acts 21:1), now continues trip to Jerusalem. Paul is great example to do what God wants us to do, even when it is hard to do (21:11-13). The brethren did not have bad blood but just concerned. Paul was more concerned on pleasing God I. DEADLY SUPPOSITION 21:27-29. Enemies decided to deliberately confuse the crowd Paul was falsely accused of dishonoring their nation; destroying the Scriptures; and defiling their temple. These accusations had been used against Jesus and Stephen, they had been executed II. DISORDERED SUPPOSITION 21:30-36 In Acts 2, on previous Day of Pentecost, people came from all over Jerusalem to hear the apostles, now 27 years later, folks pressed into the temple to see an apostle die (v. 30). Paul only had minutes to live when God stepped in with a divine reprieve. Ironically, God used an irreligious power to subdue religious people v.31, 32 In Acts 21:34-36, Paul was now a prisoner of Rome, where he will remain to the end of Acts. Lesson: when Christianity collides with culture, there WILL be a fallout. When the commander found facts about Paul (v. 37-39), he was surprised. REMEMBER: ‘The crosses people bear are seldom in sight!
